    • OOHHH. Henry, I just found your site. I once worked in what we call here comic strips, writing graphic novellas, so your site is one I will be visiting. Really nice to connect with you.

      • So glad to have you on board! Curious about your work in comics. I am guessing it proved to be rewarding.

      • Glad to be on board. It did prove. I loved it. The whole biz of storyboarding in ‘boxes’. A specific amount of frames. Tight writing. Oh yes. Going to enjoy following you.

  19. Links, links, I must have links!
I want to buy one of your 📚 books.
Also, which one do you recommend for me to buy first?

    • OMG… Probably none of them! My talented lady you don’t have to do that. If you do though..hee hee…I have a books page there in my tabs and It depends on if you like a darker story or a lighter one in some ways. They all have a feisty heroine. The Viking and The Courtesan is a kind of time travel romp if that’s your bag. . The first chapter of it is here under all the review gubbins stuff and there are NOW buy links. hell, do you know I noticed there were none!

      https://shehannemoore.wordpress.com/books-by-shehanne-moore/the-viking-and-the-courtesan/

      • I think that I can order your 📚 book locally because it’s available at Barnes and Noble (I think I read that) and they have a Canadian division, I’ll phone them tomorrow when they’re open and order your book, I want the one with the Viking!

      • The Viking is in print and ebook so they should have either. You are an angel you know. Just saw your latest blog with the dove—stunning, gave a reader a ton to think about. Thank you genie for your kindness xx

  20. I gave up on the local book store getting back to me, so I just ordered: The Viking and The Courtesan, in the Kindle format from Amazon ca.
I’m gonna start reading it today, I can’t wait!

    • #OMG! I love your book already! It begins with shoes, what a fun way to start the book, and her name! Malice! I’m hooked, looks like I’m gonna have to keep buying every one of your books after I finish reading this one — and I know I’m not going to be able to put your book down for most of the day, it’s so intriguing and written in a humerous way, I love it! ❤️ xoxo 😘

      • Oh God…. Deep breath Shey…deep breath girl. BREAHTE!!! Where to start thanking you for that comment, I don’t know, except I do thank you. I wrestle with self doubt. I think all writers do unless they are complete idiots so this comment has me hyperventilating. I always wanted to give a heroine the name Malice. I am tickled you’ve mentioned her xxxxx

      • You are a fantastic writer, I can’t get over it, witty, humerous, riveting, naughty, take risks, gee, I’m blown away, I keep reading then go back to read, because it’s just so well written that I don’t want to miss a thing. But I’m going to give up going back and rereading for the chuckes and fascination, because I’ll never make it through the entire book if I keep doing that!

  21. Chucks? That’s ridiculous, I meant: Chuckles.
This iSlave is tacky, it keeps changing my spelling.

btw, I just told Jeffrey about your book:
    https://quasphotography.wordpress.com/2016/10/04/notches

    • OMG Genie, now I cannae breathe. I went over to your Jeffrey. That image is mind blowing. (That is my kind of heroine, surveying the domain, staking out her space on it, axe in hand. I am totally blown away by what you say. I can’t write the frills stuff, it’s beyond me. I’d sooner cut of my hands. (Well hand…could be hard to get two at once) And taking risks can be a hard sell, I only started writing romance cos I had knocked on every door going with my historical fiction but I just had to frigging do it my way. You have totally made me believe in myself xxxxx

      • “Maybe the devil would make her a demoness.”

My word, that’s funny and original and mighty bold writing too, im just riveted to your book, for having read it most of the morning — I know I haven’t gotten very far but it’s due to savouring these great lines and most inserting plots and subplots.

I know I’m gonna no to have to buy all of your other books now because I’ve become such a fan of your work (I love the hamster dudes too, but that’s different), which one do you suggest I buy next?
This one that you said I might like is just right for my first novel of yours, so I want to know which one would be a good one to read after this one, your recommendation is helpful.

      • Lol… “Maybe the devil would make her a demoness.” I just imagined her sort of patting her hair into place there as opposed to being outright terrified…’bricking it’ as we say here. I’m totally in the clouds that you like my work. I love your way with words and your absolute talent for seeing the small spaces, the beauty in everything, the memories the bench holds, what you do with an image, so I an truly humbled by your words and kindness. I try in all my books to hold to the humor, the boldness and the heroine who will always think on her own two feet and refuse to accept what life throws. Loving Lady Lazuli is a tad darker than this book in that both leads are quite damaged and from a darker place—I deliberately wanted to write about how two not instantly likeable people could still find some kind of deserved redemption, but it still has all these things you mention. Oh and the sub plots and twists. The first chapter .the ‘illustrated’ version is under the Loving Lady lazuli page which you can get through clicking on the cover on my books page. x

  22. What a great niche! Smexy historical romance!

  26. Buna dimineata Shehanne !
    Interesant Blog ! 🙂
    Felicitari ! 🙂
    Cu respect,
    Aliosa.

    • Aw Alioso, bună dimineața pentru tine. Sper că este una bună. Vă mulțumesc pentru comentariu fel. Căci vine prin și luând timp pentru a spune salut. Ați făcut destul de xxx mea zi

  27. Sat down today and read Lovely Lady Lazuli cover to cover. My, my move over Mr D’Arcy! Dev is a deliciously wicked! Cassidy is wickedly delicious. Well done Shey xxx

    • OH MY GOD. Kate I can’t possibly begin to tell you what that means to me, for so many reasons. One, I have been on the verge of packing it all in. Certainly I’ve been on the verge of serving both sets of publishers with a breach of contract. Yeah. Two, I just can’t write anything other than flawed characters and I know that is a hard sell. Dev is certainly wicked. And she is not much better. SO to read this has quite brought the joy back into my veins. Thank you. You are an amazing lady you know. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

      • Hahaha Aww Shehanne, don’t give up! I bought it yesterday from Amazon kindle and just sat down and read it. I didn’t put it down until I finished it. I can’t say that about very many books (and I read A LOT) I love flawed characters – who isn’t flawed? They’re the most interesting ones. Flawed is good. I could picture the colours and the hairstyles and the vanity fans. Rose and Pearl made me laugh. (Gil was a nicer(?) character than I thought he would be) (can you use brackets within brackets?) . I understood why she did things, why he did things & I wanted to bang their heads together and say ‘just tell each other the truth!’ but then there’d be no book. I love it when characters ‘feel’ real. You keep scribbling missus. Nil Desperandum.

      • AWWWWWWW. Then I won’t give up. I am just gonna zip it re carry ons with publishers. At least I have some movement on Splendor which is in the Lazuli series and will hopefully be out in January. Yir a doll, so you are. Truly, truly and I am fair tickled you couldn’t put it down. I do love flawed. I just find people so gloriously self unaware in general and I do enjoy trying to get at that. I am also fair tickled you got a laugh at the two sidekicks and I never like to make anyone all bad cos I think that’s cardboardy. We are the product of various things. (Giggling here about how I also want to bang his and her heads together in every scene in every book. I lead them together nicely and then THEN they damn well go and do something, say something that was not planned. I think WHAT? Why did you do that? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx again Kate. You are a treasure.

      • Yeah! So glad. I will have to read the series now!
Real people, even heroic people have flaws, it’s what makes people diamonds and lovable even when they’re b’stards.
They aren’t really ‘bad’ people they are people put in desperate situations who have made the best of it to carry on living – who knows what we would do if we were placed in that position? I also like the fact that the sex scenes aren’t ‘shabby’ or ‘explicit’ if you know what I mean. I’ve done a write up on Amazon as well btw hope you like it xx

      • MIND? My lord I just went over and read it and it is fabulous and fabulous of you. I will get out there punting this soon as I catch myself up. (Been putting up the main Christmas Tree which was not going in tis usual place this year after we changed the sitting room round. I am not going to tell you where it nearly went, after the hubby decided he didn’t like it in the window,.) Kate, this is wonderful of you. Truly. Both the leads in the next part of the series are flawed Yay, you like flawed. You are right they are just people put in desperate situations. BTO I don’t really like writing sex scenes and it might surprise you the amount of writers who don’t like writing it. You’re right that there’s an awful lot of shabby/explicit and gratuitous stuff out there but you kind of have to add them in romance. I made myself a promise at the start that I would try to look at the bargaining counter it can be and in this book also think about what it is, when you have a hero who has been around the block and a heroine who hasn’t, is going to make that work, so it will go over and above that and hopefully at the end a reader sees this couple are right for each other. . Thank you again Kate xxxxxxxxxx

      • Hahaha was hubby nearly the ‘star’ on top of the Christmas tree :0). I’m so glad you liked it.

I am not against sex scenes, in this day and age, you can’t get away with ‘he gently held her hand and kissed her’ as the ‘meaty’ bit. But it’s the graphic, ‘just throw a sex scene in’ stuff which is not my cup of tea.

I never harm books but I actually threw 50 Shades in the bin after I had forced myself to read 67 pages of it (kept thinking why is everyone raving about this tosh?) it was so ghastly (as well as the awful dialog – if she bit her lip once, she bit it a hundred times). Yours isn’t like that. It’s part of the story and they make sense. You know why they are there.

Flawed people have always fascinated readers – If you think of Heathcliff and Cathy, he’s a monster and she’s neurotic, but you know what got them there & why they are like that so they become likeable and you want them to be together.

We like our flawed heroes because we think we can be like them, there’s a chance for us to be ‘the hero’.
Sorry, I’m going on and on, but I am very passionate about books and stories we tell.
Hope your hubby has remained ‘treeless’. xxxx

      • The prob is the living room tree is like 8 feet tall and sort of narrows as it goes, like a waving willow. Anyway it is still in one piece after I had to move it…fully decorated out the window. He is too, which is even more remarkable. I told him in advance the window was a bad idea. ( This is only our 3rd Christmas here and with getting the room revamped we’re just not used to it yet re heifering Christmas trees. Books? Oh you have idea the pleasure I get from talking about books Please go on all you like. I seldom get the chance to chat to folks re books. Totally agree re Healthcliff and Cathy. The film does not give you the half of what they are really like, and what they are like is not pretty but as you say, you see why they are that way and how they tear one another apart. And yes you still need to see them together cos they are meant to be together. And yes I think we would all rather be the flawed hero or heroine than the perfect because we are not perfect. I don’t get people who say I would rather be Melanie Hamilton than Scarlett. Excuse me? Gimme that bad gal any day. They feel everything these characters even when they try not to.
50 shades…. I am saying this in big capital letters. DON’T GET ME STARTED. It’s not pretty either when I do! Unfortunately that is where I lay the trend re just put sex in for the sake of it. I was actually talking to Incy Black not so long ago about that. She totally feels the same. Sex ain’t new. It’s been around since the dawn of time But it’s like– what new thing can we think up here, what new perversion impossible thing whatever? . Market is saturated with it all. I won’t start about the times when someone comes on Facebook wanting you like their page and it is all that stuff I really try hard not to smother the yawn, Now listen, you go on as much as you like. xxxxxxxxxx

      • How did you manage to get a fully decorated tree out of a window without damaging it? May I ask Is there any particular order in which I should read your books? I normally start with the first one written and work my way through unless there are a few ‘trilogies’, then I would read them together.

      • Well I just lifted it darling. That was why I got into where I would like to shove it mode. It was true goal, motivation and conflict. The goal was to move the damn thing, the motivation was if it collapsed, the conflict was just to leave it where it was cos see if it had collapsed….. well…. Kate, I am just so glad you want to read any of my books at all, AND have read any. They are all standalones despite the fact that Lazuli and Courtesan are forming a series…when my publishers get it together that is…… xxxx

      • Tree – I can understand the motivation there hahaha!
Books -Thank you, that’s great I will eeny meeny miney mo my next selection Lol!
        Have a lovely day Shehanne

      • Tree…. Glad you understood the motivation!!! You are a darling, I hope your day is good. My younger girl came round and stayed and stayed… But my next post will be a thank you so some very nice folks.!!!

  28. Bonjour SHEHANNE

    Bisous , BERNARD

  29. I made a wee meme card and put it on my slideshow on this page. The dudes will be getting a post together soon and they will be sure to mention it and you x

  30. Good posts, beautiful blog.
    Congratulations.
    Welcome to see my creations:
    http://paintdigi.wordpress.com

  31. Ah huh, finally I made it in. By the way it was through the email notifications not Gravatar. Love the Gothic, and Lady Fury, also the Kilts on fb x😊

    • LILY!! Yes. Here was me blaming WP. Probably cos I had some probs there too last week that meant I couldn’t get round all the posts. You’re an angel to have kept trying. I’m really touched and not just in the head! I am kind of into gothic. I do admit. When I was far younger I used to wear black glitter nail polish and er..that kind of gear. I am still probably pretty grungy that way when it comes to clothes. xxxxxx

      • Aah, your sweet. I like gothic, , and grunge too. But I must say it not through your gravatar that I access your lovely blog, but through the comments path on the emails page. Some thing could be wrong (with me too, or on my end ) so do check if you can access from somewhere else! Touched not just in the heart!!!!

      • Aw Lily, lovely to chat. When I first got your email I thought it was a spammy one cos I thought who in their right mind would want to access my blog, but the Lily Von Valley bit was very familiar. I thought I do visit this blog so… I usually access through my reader to get to other blogs cos WP keep changing my email settings. Like that not every post comes up though and of course there’s times the reader does not work. too and I have to give up before I throw the pc thought the window…. All the damned balls I juggle on a daily basis does not allow for that kind of stuff. But there, Christmas is coming I will be tranquil. xxxxxxxxxxx

    Gros bisous

    Bernard

  33. So, Shehanne — which of your books do you suggest I start with? It’s difficult to choose. :0) Have a great day! oxo

    • Oh God, you don’t have to start with any, they are probably all bloody dreadful, though it’s very, very kind of you to make my day. I guess . if you are going tae be so daft though, it depends on what kind of story you like, Ie The Viking one is a kind of romp really whereas the likes of Lazuli is darker. I try to put humor in whatever, That is alas just me….

      • Lazuli it is! I won’t get to it for a month or so, but I’ll let you know when I finish. Wit-woo! oxo

      • OOOOH You angel Wit woo. Thank you. Thank you. You made my day. Lazuli is a much darker story of two somewhat damaged people , a hero who needs saving from self destruction and a heroine who doesn’t want to do it. . It is certainly not a sweet tale . x

    Bisous Bernard Ton Ami

  35. I know I need to get busy ordering the books you have written, Shehanne. I am in awe of your sexy and romantic style! I had no idea how accomplished you were and am embarrassed to admit this! 🙂 Thank you for being active in my comment section with the dearest thoughts. ❤

    • Oh, please don’t think like that at all,my special lady. Primarily what I do here is let the dudes be silly and show off other folks. This is a very tough, often brutal biz but I have met so many wonderful people in it, I want to have a place where we can all be a bit silly in a way and get a laugh hopefully. I have had a great problem with delays on my last two books due to circumstances beyond my control so I haven’t said much about them and I won’t till I have a proper publication date. It my pleasure to come by and comment on your lovely blog xxx

      • Thanks so much, Shehanne. ❤ When I order the new books they will be in paper form. I like Kindle but prefer books in a stack on side of my bed in a basket. Most of the time, I just fill out Library Requisition forms and then borrow them! Romance with a twist of inner strength and independence sounds wonderful. 🙂

      • My darling… I don’t like kindles! I am a book monster. Loving the smell and feel of the pages, being able to turn a page down on a page I have to read again. my hubby accuses me of gutting paper copies. I don’t I just love them so much I devour them! I have my paperback rights back on the two books that are only kindle and I am hoping to get these out in paperback myself . just been so busy

  36. When I went to the link at Amazon, it is quite tricky to make sure you are ordering paperback copies of any books. I think I can be excited to have two of your books in my hot little hands soon! I ordered “The Viking and the Courtesan” and “The Unraveling of Lady Fury.” I am so tickled pink!! xoxoxo
PS. I feel like my face will blush, too. (!)

    • OMG. You are so kind. You truly are. I am humbled you went to this trouble. These two are the only two in paperback. I can bring out a paperback copy myself of the other two as I hve the paperback rights on these and I would avhe done so but the last two years have been horrendously busy since we moved hosue and yep it wa s a bit of a dump and then of course we had our lovely wee grandbaby to mind two full days a week. So a lot of thigns like paperback copies were shelved but I am going to get to this . Thank you so much. And I hope you don’t blush too much. I admit there ‘s ahem…. afew scenes in Fury especially BUT I like to think I do not write gratuitous. I always try to write how this can be quite a bargaining counter x

      • Hey, maybe I need a little bit of gratuitous sexy scenes, Shehanne. After all, after ten years gone by, am still single! 🙂 Current boyfriend is busy every other weekend with two boys but after ten months of “dating” I did meet his boys and my lovely two grandsons now know Nana does have a real boyfriend. Ha ha ha!

      • LMAO. LOL My darling….maybe he is just a slow mover. Aw, maybe he is just cautious. Ha ha!

      • We’ve had romance and just need to have more than two dating encounters a month! 😉 Meanwhile, I am excited to have them here! Looks like I am rather naughty and wicked. . . Lol

      • LMAO my darling. Indeed you do need to have more than two dating encounters a month. You NEED to be wicked. being food is so boring xxxxxxxx

  37. Hey Shey-

I love your hamster characters so much ~ could you point me in the direction of a book that I might read that you wrote? I finally have a break coming up, and I’m looking for a fiction read.

    Aloha, Ka

    • Oh Ka, my darling you would prob be better to read any book but mine. Lol, seriously. I am just heart clutching here reading your lovely comment and adding, that it depends on whether you like light or dark. Yep! The likes of Viking and courtesan, Lady fury, they are kinda romps, Lazuli is darker. BUT I like humor so alas, that is sort of there but please, never feel you have to read anything of mine xxxx

  38. Just noticed on your glamourous header, “Love, all we don’t need!” This is funny and clever, Shehanne. Haven’t cracked open your book but pick it up and admire the heft of it. 😉 Xoxo

    • LOL!!! Yeah , my characters believe that firmly. And this new book is one where really her choice is so huge, so difficult, she abso holds to that mantra. But let’s fade it the wee arrows strike and I do like pitching my leads against that fact xxxxxxx

  39. Thank you 🙂
