We are all sitting here in -6 temps in homes we can’t afford to heat, every week everything you buy has gone up by another leg and arm, every month they hike the mortgages. I just got in a going for broke mood and the dudes just came to the fore. I mean you gotta laugh, right? But I also wanted to include the book blip site cos it’s not been going long and it’s a another bookstore for authors. So thank you, truly.

It is indeed. So many people are struggling. Every week I go grocery shopping there’s an average of like 10p on every item. That sounds like nothing in itself if you are buying two items. Who is though? That is the minimum on everything. A lot of it has far more on. And that’s the decent, cut price, best value, super markets. And it’s every week, all that on from the week before. So I felt a silly post coming on x
Ugh. Constantly rises prices ARE painful. 😦 Humor does help a little. 🙂

Hi Shey, I’m late to the party, but I wanted to confirm that we are seeing huge price increases in food costs across Canada. When I shop for groceries I recognize that everyone is more careful in their purchase decisions. This is from an article yesterday morning:

Which brings me to thank you for writing amazing books that give a joy to readers. In the midst of uncertainty, storytellers bring respite. Thank you for the introduction to Sophia Gallegos and Shan RK.
Well it’s been horrible here Rebecca, people can’t afford to heat their homes. And even those who can won’t, cos they won’t give greedy energy companies the money. This crisis has nothing to do with any war in Ukraine, it is the fact we got rid of the gas storage facilities, shut down our own production and let greedy unregulated companies take over. (We at least have a fall back in this house of a log fire and free wood galore) Mortgages have doubled for many people and food soars on a weekly basis. We are all watching every penny that goes out. There’s now strikes here galore and no wonder. people are angry that the various govs here, including the devolved ones, were able to chuck billions at Covid, and contracts for their buddies, chuck billions right left and centre except to the people here, so they are not for budging on pay demands as everything that is offered is in fact a cut against soaring inflation. there.. all horrible But yes we keep going and we keep smiling cos it’s free .. SO THANK YOU for the lovely comment . The very best to you and yours and raise plenty glasses whatever !!

xxx Diana, I am truly glad that people are having a giggle. It has made my day. SO thank you. Book BLip are well worth exploring. They are quite new. I came across them when they followed me on Twitter and investigated further. The staff are nice and you just go on their converter on their site and you can convert the books to EPUB and Mobi and upload them. They pay half of sales and the books are up in no time. Also they are no win tow with a marketing company that will do a review etc and the cost is very good actually cos you get discount if you are with Book Blip.
I’ll look into them as I pull together my marketing goals for the new year (rather than do it willy nilly and never like in other years). And yes, a good laugh. Fa la la la la, la la la la. 🙂 Happy Holidays.

LOL… I left that wassailing song out. Yes, I have never felt well disposed to it after nearly being trampled to death, in company with 2 other lucky theatre group members by 200 schoolchildren at some fancy Dickens’ Christmas evening where the bit where they all excitedly ran through the lovely Victorian hall while we stood there, had never been rehearsed with them. To this day I cannot listen to that song without thinking of how we linked arms in the face of the onslaught and refused to let any one of us go down, while up above in the lovely circular Victorian gallery, the other members of the group looked on in sheer horror. Ah yes, these were the days. Seriously a merry merry day to you and a wonderful time with those you love. Book blip is new and worth checking out. It is EPUB and mobi only but the conversion tool is there on their site and they very good to deal with.
Shey, you have the best stories!! 😂Someday you will need to take a break from romance and write ✍️ your memoirs. 😘 the vision of you three linking arms while 200 kids charge in is priceless!
Lol..it was actually. Despite feeling as if our teeth were pinned to the back of our throats we even had sort of conversation. It went something like. ‘You all right there?’ ‘I think my foot is broken but I’m still standing’. ‘No! No! Beatrice! Don’t go down, girl. Keep upright.’ The worst bit?? See after that the other two had to go straight into some scene, probably wi one of the brats that nearly killed us. I think it might have been David Copperfield. But it was prob all the more priceless if you can imagine how the three of us marched in in the first place, all jolly carrying lanterns and boughs of plastic holly, all totted up ias whoever we were playing first–I think I was Madame Defarge, either that or Nancy–belting out ‘Here we Come A ‘Wassailing,’ Well, let me you it wasnae for long.
Madame DeFarge would have jabbed them with a knitting needle!! ;0) xox Merry Christmas, Friend. Enjoy the fam!

Hawklad’s first pet was a psychotic hamster. We bought Benjamin a little hamster Christmas cake. It immediately made really aggressive noises. As I opened the cage door to check on him, the little fellow calmly chucked the cake out of the cage and then closed the cage door. Plenty of Christmas spirit xxxx
OMG that hamster was epic. That was you well told. One of my daughter”s had a hamster that basically was at the centre of a custody case re her and her now hubby–eventually to get her to come home and just let things cool a bit, I agreed to take it. Anyway, it used to arrange all its food in patterns rather than eat it and it would go tits if you cleaned it out . They are obvi very temperamental….
