Now that is the way to vacation. Great summary. I love it that you got tossed out of bars. Really nice photos. Is that you looking “hot” in the miniskirt and boots?
LOl.. That last night was epic, like being 16 again and belting down the fire escape of a well kent underage dive, cos the police were raiding it. The going home and telling the parents about the nice evening you’d had at a friend’s house …. We had got speaking to that couple a few nights previously cos they are Scots but live there cos their son married a Prague girl…and they got stuck there when lockdown hit. Anyway, we bumped into them again by chance that last night. Lol..yeah that is yours truly. It said on the weather forecast that it would be a few degrees hotter than Scotland, which frankly meant it would be baltic. So let’s just say when it turned out to be 10 -12 degrees warmer, ‘houston had a problem’ in terms of the clothes in the suitcase…..ie these boots were all I had footwear wise.. and that was my little black dress I put in for the Prague by night cruise
You were double hot in those boots and skirt. It made my day to read the highlights of your adventures. So much fun.
AWWWWW. Them’s my gothy boots!! I do like to have fun adventures, So glad you enjoyed reading xx
A fantastic travelogue, my beautiful lady. It reminded me a lot about that time I was there. Especially the illuminated Klementinum at night (I missed it!). Thank you.xxx
It is a wonderful place to see. Loved the old room under the last bit of the tower where they had told the time for hundreds of years from. Such a beautiful city AND this time, unlike last time, when it was winter, the sun was shining.
So, you been off to Prague and looking fabulous, hitting all the absolutely gorgeous antiquity and of special interest ( to me) the bars. Everyone needs refreshments while touring this beautiful city. It seems the dudes were not as happy as they might have been, how unusual. Congratulations on being included in Freya’s favorite authors but that’s not surprising, you are everyone’s go to for favorite authors. I’m glad you had a fabulous trip I’m not at all green with envy 🤢💚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
AW… We were there a few years ago and had booked to go back when lockdown hit as there were whole bits we never got to, notably the Castle side of the river. Then we saw a deal in our wee travel agent down the road. A deal you could not walk past. A deal they even let you pay up …so, naturally it was a deal we took them up on. It is a lovely city, even the random buildings are beautiful I thought you would like some of these bars, cos of your sad cafe series. The best bit about the wee cafe pic is that was smack bang in the middle of the castle, in the bit where they have this old street of tradesmen’s houses, so really busy but that cafe was somehow tucked out the way and empty. I am sure you’d have loved the sound of the Champagne Lovers too. As for the Bella Vista, it was amazing inside. The Olympia was too, Very traditional style. AS for the Stage Bar??? Well now… That is a ‘native’ bar, that Scots couple told us about. You take a lift down from one of the bridges..it is totally hidden and you just sit about on the grass, or a bench or at a trestle table. The drinks are served out this wooden kind of hut and there’s a bbq on the side. When we went there was a wedding all just sat there at the trestle tables. Amazing. We had a fabulous time. And thank you for the lovely comment. It was really kind of Freya. Truly xxxxxxxx
It all sounds so amazing, I’ve never been to Prague, it’s a dream of mine. I hope to get there one day soon and compare notes with you. Meanwhile I’m so happy you had a wonderful experience! xxxx
Looks like a Fabulous trip!!🙌💃🏻
I believe in going for broke…. when I’m away !!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In savoring the life of a place. Remind me tae tell you about the time we spent the evening drinking in an Irish bar in Rome with the then Zambian Ambassador…
Aye, and can I say you are a role model for the rest of us! And about that Zambian Ambassador — how about now!😂😍
Okay….So we had chosen to go in this irish bar cos they sold booze. I know that sounds kinda obvious, but Rome is a bit more cafe culture, where you buy a meal. The day was hot and I was done eating plates of lasagne. SO the Mr, departs for the gents ..which was in some other building along the street and in comes this couple, the lady is limping having tripped on the kerb and no-one was exactly making room. So seeing as the Mr was gone, I offered his seat at the bar and told him to can it when he returned and started tae moanand he was glad I did when the guy insisted on putting all our drinks on the tab for the Zambian embassy. Well..sort of glad cos we thought..okay, what are we getting into here, especially when we asked what he did and he said he was the ambassador to Rome and the lady was his wife Evelyn. Anyway we had a fabulous time with them and the Mr and I then came through St Peter’s Square at midnight and had it to ourselves. BUT like that… we still thought ..yeah… So we gets home to Scotland and we googles this guy and his wife and sure enough indeed this was Frank Mutubila and his wife Evelyn Tembo, cos there he was on you tube interviewing Hilary Clinton. We kept in touch for a good while after but they divorced eventually. SO there you go.
THAT is a good travel story, Shey, and exactly the reason I love traveling because there are so many surprises. How fun! Regaled with stories of ambassadorship and free booze to boot! What does it take to get an ambassador gig to Italy? Sounds like something that would be really interesting 🧐 I think. 🤔 😂
It was a good night, tell you that. Like us they just wanted a drink not another four plates of lasagne!!!
😂😂😂
as for what it took….? Just asking someone if they were ok actually..xxxxx
It’s the small things that make big impacts. ♥️
xxxxx Very true
♥️💕
A great read, young Ms S. ‘Tis the sort of thing…real things, happening things…that attract. Glade you both had a good time. Regards, Mike
I aye like to go where folks often don’t when we go places. We’ve aye had the best times that way. Great to see you Mike x
Shehanne, your post “Czechs” all the boxes — hilarious, informative, great images, and tons of wonderful hamster dialogue. All sort of like a very interesting, complex “Prague”-rock song…um…prog-rock song. Okay, I’ll stop now. 🙂
LOL. Love it. Glad you liked. I didn’t want to bore for Prague!!! And the Klementinum was wonderful.
🙂
A post as far from boring as can be!
AWW … Dave, thank you so much.
You’re very welcome! 🙂
xxxx
Your trip to Prague seems to have been really adventerous, Shehanne, and there seems to have even been some prohibitions! I just love this city and remember the city’s 100 towers, the medieval astronomic clock, as well as the great atmoshere! Many thanks for your very great narration of this place:)
It’s a fabulous place. Our second time. Were meant to be back there a few years ago. But hey, made up for it now and hope to visit again.
I hope the very best for your third time:)
Oh can’t wait to bring it on xxxxxxxx
I want to go with you guys on your next vacation, please! – Marty
Lol. I should set up a tour co!! Badly Behaved Tourists…..We would have the best time!
Thank you Marty. You’ve made my day!
LOL! Those little critters crack me up, Shey. Bravo on the book review. ❤
xxxxxxxx Colleen..Gonna get all the latest ones from lovely people like yourself on each blog xx (I just didn’t want to look like this pain in the proverbials going..oh look at me xxxx)
Ha, ha! We have to toot our own horns! That’s a fact. 🥳📯☀️
I say that to everyone. If you don’t then no-one else will but it’s what we call the Dundee cringe here…….
LOL! The Dundee Cringe fits! ❤ A necessary part of being an author. ❤
LOL… Honest we are kind of world known for it. This singer songwriter Michael Marra, once said, ‘ Dundee folks are not easily impressed.’ And that is so -oh true. But add, ‘Not even with themselves,’ and it is even truer! So i had this wrestling match with myself where I thought…cos I need to mention Diana’ blog too, just do Freya this time and keep Colleen’s for next time, then Diana’s.
Great vaycay, Shey!
Neat shots and I like your point system of rating/explaining thing esp. that you were flung out. Very cool.
Just think, I know someone who was flung out of 2 bars in Prague. Way to go!!!!!
Congrats on being added to Freya’s faves list!
I’ll be using the Lennon Wall with some other 1 offs from other bloggers. I want 6. I have 5. Almost there.
So, to end this comment; I sent a mail with a sneak peek at the 90% done gown.
xoxoxoxoxoxo
Aye… Nowt like being flung out of bars elsewhere! I mean been flung out of a few here and on one epic occasion a hotel, with the rest of the cast and our costumes, all 80 of them, but Prague….?? YES!!!!I Didn’t put the wall pic up cos I am more than happy you use it. it is graffiti art after all. AND I LOVE THE GOWN xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I’ve always wanted to visit Prague- so beautiful! I can’t imagine having a wedding in a BAR though, lol
Prague is the most beautiful city, also very cheap, friendly and accessible. We were there a few years back and been waiting and waiting after a break we’d booked was cancelled due to lockdown. Now the bar wedding was something else….a sort of ‘secret’ bar, on the river bank, underneath one of the bridges– a lift took you down, absolutely wonderful place where you just sat on a bench, grass, or at a trestle table, play areas for children. The next day there was a funfair there, just for the day. that kind of place. Just amazing. We like to find the sort of ‘unusual’ places. Open air ‘nightclub’ in a deserted village in Tilos that didn’t shut till the last person was bused back down the mountain, music, bars in the middle of building sites you had to climb over concrete blocks to get into.. yeah… you name it.
Okay, that sounds amazing! You’d be fun to travel with, I’m thinking 🙂
Aww, Jacquie, Prob a pain in the proverbials is closer to the mark but hey of a dull evening, I do sometimes think… did this, did that..without planning or meaning to. It just happened. xxx
OMG, I love your adventure in Prague! Great picture’s. Crashed a wedding, hit every bar, you’re EPIC meh bonnie Shey. LOL xoxoxo 😃💕💕
lol… I just like to have a good time. Life is indeed for living. I think…meet the world with a smile on your face and it usually smiles back xx
I agree, wholeheartedly! Xoxoxo
xxxxxx
Absolutely wonderful! And I love the guitar player.
xxxxxx Rivers. So glad you enjoyed. I know we sure did !! xx
Ps… putting the hamster dude guitarist aside, you should have seen and heard the guy in that band on the mixers and I ain’t talking what looked to be food mixer whisks not studio ones.
Nice
Thank you for visiting and commenting Asghar, glad you enjoyed.
Thanks for writting
Your trip to Prague was fabulous. I loved all your pics and the descriptions
The dudes are great, as ever 🤗
xxxx Luisa, how lovely to see you. Our trip was wonderful. But we have had wonderful trips to Rome as I was saying to Pam there in the comments. We like to get out there and see as much and not just the main sites, inf act sometimes not even any sites, just see where it takes us.
I also think that, besides the main attractions, each place has many fantastic aspects just waiting to be discovered by those with eyes to notice them.💙💙💙
I think you have summed that up. There’s been ‘ attractions’ we have never got to yet cos of the’ distractions.’ But oh, what a day we had xxx
Hilarious adventures. Pssssst: you’re one of my favourite writers, too. Xxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ince. Aye too kind. And ou est le latest book from your good self??? Your fans are waiting you know. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Those critters are hilarious!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx We won’t tell them. They’d just whine about it!! xxxxx for the lovely comment
Magical mayhem as always, Shey. Hilarious. Love the way you tell it and the way you do it! Brill adventures just waiting to happen – and you looking so cool in that goth gear. Congrats on being one of Freya’s picks, definitely mine too. Give my fave dude a squeeze from me! 🇫🇷
What d’yah them there mean, Ah is gonna be at the Eiffel TOwer wearin mah best beret with a them there toolip in it, tah be hugged in person.
Love Bobby b…La Ville.
I don’t how the adventures happen when we try to behave so nicely……Seriously Thank you for the lovely comment. Truly. I was reduced to going about like a Goth in boots that were killing in more ways than one, cos it was so hot. At least?? it was an improvement on the first time we went to Rome and had no bags for the first few days cos after they were firstly left along with those of a Nigerian priest and some woman from Alaska or somewhere on a baggage carousel at Schiphol Airport…their fault not ours…and then plainly progressed onto Rome via Timbuktu. But on the bright side, I remembered that the agony of doing the Sistine Chapel in heels at that point, was far worse.
Just seen this. This made me smile so much. Let’s raise a glass to many more fantastic adventures. Always wanted to visit there. xxxxxx
Wonderful to see you Gary. You know we really like Yorkshire and we’ve had a few adventures there. Glad you enjoyed and it is a lovely city, also pretty cheap. So let’s all raise a (nicked) glass.
What a wonderful trip, Shey. I loved all the bar stats, and had to laugh that you were bumped out of two of them. Lol. Beautiful cathedral. I just learned last week that Saint Vitus was the saint of dance. Nice place for a ball! And that library…. oh, just gorgeous and straight out of fantasy. No mice or hamsters allowed for a reason! Loved the post and thanks for all the fun and pictures. Now I want to go there too. 🙂
We were hoping to see the library at the Strahov but we had already walked quite a bit in the burning heat, over to old Town where alas there was a marathon on and it was a nightmare to get back out of there again, so we gave up on the Strahov. But it looks similarly gorgeous. Prague is a beautiful city, so friendly and also –even better–easy on the pocket. This time we were on the other side of the river which was great cos we’d never done these quarters and there were lots of beautiful walks along the river itself, cafes, bars, eateries, bistros. The library was like part of a guided tour–they only have small parties of guided cos of the access probs to that whole bit, so you have to wait for one party to finish and come down the whole tower again before another can go up– and it was really fascinating being in the footsteps of some the greatest astronomers who had worked in the university there, especially reaching the last room itself and then heading up this ancient staircase with no bannisters to the roof.
I haven’t been to Prague, but my parents went once and they LOVED it. So they went back, which was a rare thing for them to do. I imagine the sense of history is stunning. And nice that its still affordable. It sounds beautiful as well as fascinating. ❤
It’s honestly affordable or we couldn’t go We have found other capitals affordable but the flights there much more expensive. We have gone back to many places in our time and gone to many new places too. in a different set of circumstances world ..we didn’t have it, then for a bit we did. Ramshackle middle of nowhere places with the girls, when they were wee. Places where the last bit was in a donkey cart, places where we were better off so gave them a diff experience. Places we’d have gone back to in a moment but life had changed. BUT having got into small breaks we have our favs and we hope to go back here again. xxx
Loved your mini tour you shared of Prague. It seems to me, bars were important stops LOL. The photos are gorgeous. And had to laugh at your hotel and bookstore ratings, ‘5 to them’ LOLOL. I always shake my head when I believe I’ve booked a 5 star hotel somewhere and equate it to a 3 at most. Yes, 5 stars to them! 🙂 xoxo
Lol. Oh bars are important stops and the fab weather meant the outdoor river ones were ideal. the bookshop was amazing. I have never been in one like it. The hotel was nice. We preferred the one the last time cos it was bigger and had better facilities in terms of the restaurant and ..okay..the bar, which was the whole foyer and did happy hours on cocktails and served lovely coffee. But it was much further away from the centre. This hotel was far smaller but really well cited a few minutes walk from so much. So yeah, five stars! And it is one we would choose again.
Thanks for clarifying that Sistah. And yes! Bars are very important! Lol ❤ xx
They are. I rate on different things cos let’s face things that we sometimes don’t like are personal to us, just as things we do like are. BUT if I stay in a dump that is personal to no-one well..?? And that hotel ticked more relevant boxes. As fo the bars they did too.xx
Cheers to that my Lovely! ❤ xx
A big WOW on the cathedral photo.
THAT is so so kind of you cos I ain’t exactly a photographer. Also,I dunno if you have ever been to Prague Castle but it’s a huge complex. You get in for free and can wander in the doors of, but not round the various buildings. You can also buy tickets– like to wander round various set groups of buildings. And at that stage we were just having a nosy to see what ticket we’d buy so this was taken just inside the door of the cathedral while we made our minds up. I just sometimes like to snap things as opposed to posing everything and I thought ‘Ocht just snap this, the light is bonnie…’ And then I thought , this one is a keeper I think.
Worth the price of admission IMHO. Bet they charged more for “foreigners.”
Lol. Actually one of the things we love about Prague is it is so cheap. The attraction entry prices for a capital city are nothing short of miraculous when compared with here. So we made sure that the ticket we bought had that one on it.

Love your adventures. Looks like you had fun!
Aw… that is so kind. Glad you enjoyed. Yeah, let’s just say one thing we may not know much but one thing we do know is how to misbehave xx
