What a phenomenal place to call home, my dear. Awesome that you are out and about enjoying it!
Oh I do love Glencoe, Pam. It is a wonderful place. Everything just drops away from you there. It’s moody and it’s beautiful. And one end of the glen can be so different from the other too. xxx
The pictures look divine. Gloomy and divine. 😂🥰
It’s a place of quite savage grandeur and the weather can turn in a moment making it quite brooding . But it is breath taking scenery.
We had a lovely holiday in Glencoe and the sun shoe all the time.
Lol. Glencoe is a wonderful place. We go a lot and occasionally it has even been known for us to go when the sun is shining. But mostly, the rain loving us so much feels obliged to join us for the whole weekend. Having said that if it’s too warm it’s harder on the hills so I suppose the weather feels that it is doing us a good turn. It was really just the Friday that was particularly bitter.
Looks like an idyllic place, and I always love hearing from the hamsters.
AW. Just been busy editing that book but I thought I need to get the little fellahs out there and this was a good excuse It’s a wonderful place and we go a lot. x
I can see why!
Last summer was a bumper tourist year so everywhere has hiked their prices or we’d go sooner than August but we are going back then.
‘Neglected for weeks’ a super line; the story of my life. Methinks the desire to write is the guilty party? I suffer as we all do. That said, dramatic scenery almost on your doorstep must be a true source of creativity? A reassuring blog post I have enjoyed reading. Best wishes, Ms S from The Now Ancient Old Fool
Now then Mike, you are anything but. xxx Indeed when one is tearing things to bits and still making sure all ends tie, alas that is the guilty party. But the weekend there was good start to finish and I thought I could get the dudes out, especially when I got sent the stickman pic. Glad you enjoyed Mike. Always nice to see you xxxxxxxxxxx
thank you very much !!! xxl to you beautiful first may celebration, i wish dr and your family.>>((((((*L*)
The happiest May to you. May the sun shine on you and all of yours xxx
I am sure that I’ve seen many photos on your blog of you by that Inn sign, Shey.
Is there a blue plaque on the Inn, saying, “Shey staggered out of here” ? 😉 ❤
There is indeed many Ralpha. It’s a ritual there that we get a pic. We used to get them standing on the tables too just beside it but they went and took the tables across the road to the actual hotel. I can’t think why. They said the staff had to trail over with drinks.. I mean come on, we aye got out own. And yeah they need a sign xxx
I knew it ! Thanks for explaining all, my friend xox 🙂
Stunning pics. Looks like a wonderful weekend – as long as dudes didn’t scoff Destiny’s manuscript while you were gone. I’m tapping my feet for it!
It was brilliant Kate. Truly. Not laughed so much in ages. And not over that much either. Just daft. Manuscript is still here and very nearly done xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx you. Truly.
So delighted for you – the laughter and the finishing and the sweet new wee bairn. All set for a relaxing summer, well deserved. xxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Kate. Thank you for all your support x
Nice to see you and the hamsters back!! Does this mean there’s a new book, soon???
A new gown on the cover???
Haha! I had to Google Glencoe! Turns out there’s a Glencoe a few hours from Toronto. I was mighty confused for a bit!!!
O’Roarke’s Destiny?
Oh there’s many Glencoes. But only one in Scotland. I have been meaning to get the dudes out there for weeks but O’Roarke’s Destiny is someone I want to strangle! To beat about the head with a dude in fact. BUT I will have it out soon and I have a cover image for part of the cove. IF there is no gown I will do a blog on the kind of gowns she used to wear. And yes, her name is Destiny,,, x
YAY!!!
Looks like you had an amazing time in that beautiful, majestic place, Shey. Hopefully the dudes haven’t messed too much with Destiny. Serafina tried to rewrite my latest WIP – she said it didn’t work because there weren’t any cats in it. I had to sneakily remove her edits when she went for a lie down…
We had a fabulous time, Cat. A laugh from start to finish. I am sure the dudes have not messed with Destiny. Oops what is that hamster doing there… ?
Shey, Such exciting news about O’roake’s Destiny being finished and out soon. Wow. Can’t wait. Pxx
Paul, it has been finished for a while but when it comes to characters I love throwing paint on them and then scraping it off. Thank you xxxx for all your support x
Congratulations on the new book and good luck, dear Shey!
Hugs Dolly. It should be out soon xxxx
Tell the dudes to keep their fingers crossed, as well as their toes and their eyes…
I will xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Such a beautiful place, and excited for your new book, O Sweet Lady Shey! Hamstah dudes, just leave a few worms and a spot of moss out for the Stickman and he’ll leave you be. Maybe. xxxxxxx
Dir Jin, we put the wirms and th mis on Stickman and we ate him. he was nice as mice.
Liv
The dudes.
I will share more soon. till tidying ends but It will be soon xxxx
Well! Glad he can’t frighten you anymore. 😉
He did nit frightin us. We just pretend to quake in our pause….
The dudes
Love the photos. I so love Glencoe. It’s stunningly beautiful but has a strange foreboding atmosphere. I remember one day of solid midge attacks. We got sick of walking around looking like people decommissioning a nuclear reactor so we climbed the Pap. Unbelievably at the top no insects. So in the setting son with a few bottles of whiskey a strange party could be seen on the summit involving people dancing about in no clothes celebrating no insect bites. I’m sure people viewing the scene would have thought it was a pagan ritual or actors shooting a new Spinal Tap movie.
LOL. Love it. I think even the midges don’t fancy that mountain top. Maybe it’s the shape of it. But yeah the views are stunning and from quite early on too .Our friends here are low level walkers and there ain’t much about of that in Glencoe but among other things we took them up the forest road to near the cut off for Meall Mor cos we knew the views there are pretty good too and it’s quiet. Also all the spring flowers were out in force so it was beautiful. We love Glencoe too. Heading back in August and yes it is stunning but with this atmosphere, savage majesty and grandeur I always think. An amazing place.
Beautiful Glencoe, and well done for winning all the pool games. Dudes, you are the best. xxx
If course we won the games. we ated the cues… then we ated the queues for the cues.
the dudes
Lol Dudes, thanks for the sneak peek of Shey’s photos. I hope she’s not driving you too hard while she drinks and play and nicks firewood! 🙂 ❤ xxx
she drove iz into the ground. SOb SOb sob. Now she is making iz chop that wood
the poor poor dudes
Omg, what a slavedriver!!! *sucks up to dudes* tee hee 🙂 xxxx
We want to cim and liv with you….
the friendly dear little dudes….
This mirning she even hud iz citing wid..half a treetrink that her grandbaby saw the ither day. Plz don’t say it wis no rest for the wiked…. the duds..oops dudes.
Beautiful Glencoe, I was there as a teenager, I have never forgotten the wild beauty of the Scottish countryside, hopefully one day I’ll get to visit again. Lovely pictures. Intrigued by the “bands listened to” as -1 😂 xxx
Oh my, it is an unforgettable place Dawn. We go a lot. it is roughly a 3 hour drive mainly because of the roads rather than the distance. LOL< in fact once it was a 7 hour after we got caught in a blizzard that brought Sdcotland to a standstill that dya and once it was an 8 after we had to go all the way back down the road and round by Loch Lomond because of an accident blocking the road…. The best bit being that after this God know's how many hours detour, we rejoined that road, about half a mile from where we had to turn back. HOWEVER, generally it is roughly 3 so yeah we are regulars there. We stay at the Clachaig Inn and every Saturday night and often during the week during beer fests there, they have live music in the Boots Bar. Very variable in terms of standard, noise level, and type. And fortunately another bar you can clear off to if you don't like the type, the standard is poor or you want to keep your hearing intact. Last weeks were fine. We've heard them a few times so we knew they would be okay. Not that we book around a band but when we saw it was them who were on we thought OK… In for a good night.
I was lucky as a teenager, a close family friend gave me a wonderful holiday in Scotland. She was from Edinburgh so we visited there, Glasgow, Moffatt, Loch Lomand, Glencoe, Loch Ness, Ullapool and we took the ferry to the Isle of Lewis and had a few days in Stornaway. At 14 and lost my heart to a very unsuitable older man…as you do at 14 lol. It was a lovely hot summer and I have never forgotten how beautiful Scotland is. I’ve been back to Edinburgh a couple of times and Glasgow once. I remember Glencoe was very misty when I was there, it added to the atmosphere and the wildness of the area. One day I will take himself there. Looking forward to your posts of your further adventures in Glencoe xxx
You know what I hope? That you can get back here to Glencoe and sing. Now that would have to…sounding like an agent here but hey…tie it in with a trip here cos they don’t pay for your trip here.
BUT believe me, I would be–not in the front row cos there’s none at the Clachaig–sitting on the covered for the night there’s a band on, pool table, Ballachulish slate tiles stuck in the wall opposite, beneath my feet, right in front of you just the same. Ah, we do lots at 14. Best days of our lives in so many ways, not knowing the rest of them, or indeed how we will remember them, because then we had no idea of how life would get in our ways xxxxxx
Bonjour SHEHANNE

The campina is a fabulous place. As always the story is great and you get used to giving life to your characters as if they were real. We take it out of the book and accompany us to enjoy the adventure. You have a unique talent to make us feel that way.
Macalder as always you are very very kind and generous in your comment. Glad that you enjoyed this post and are good enough to say. Thank you a million times. May you have the best week. xxx
Same wish for you.
Thank you so much, my friend.

Bonjour toi, mon Ami , Amie SHEHANNE

Ah mon ami, merci beaucoup. Et la semaine à venir pour vous aussi x
Nice one
Thank you so very much and for taking the time to comment . xxxx

What a lovely place surrounded by greenery! I’m green with envy!
Oh, you fall out of bed and onto the mountains there, Kally. It is a beautiful unspoiled place where all your troubles drop away. Truly. I love it there and go a lot. Thank you so much for coming by and commenting and hopefully enjoying these pics xxxxxxxxxx
Urgh!!! You are making me Super envious now. Lucky you!
Oh NO!!. Apologies Kally. We live about a 2.40/3 hour drive away…largely cos the road after Lochearnhead is none too good and depending what you get stuck behind and where. However it is well worth the trek. A place for the soul. xxxxxxx
So this place is different in different seasons and so is the time to reach…how nice – beautiful photos!
Thank you so much. I do love it there and will be back again soon. I am thrilled you enjoyed the pictures xxxxxxx

Bernard
Mon ami, merci pour le vôtre. Votre amitié et vos mots gentils. Longue vie à la France. Longue vie à Scotland.Historiquement, amis et alliés.x
I always think of Glenco, Illinois, USA, a place with plenty of homesick Scots.
Oh dear…. Glenco Illinois will probably be named after this Glencoe. xxxx
It is, indeed.
Looks a nice size of a place and nice scenery too. x
You look absolutely amazing. What a beauty 😍❤️
You are way too kind. Truly. If only it was the good life I lead…… x But thank you. Truly x
It’s sounds like you are enjoying your life in heaven. I also find you are an amazing woman 😘 your husband is so lucky because you are the reason. I wish I will get gf like you in my life. Lol 😂
Ganesh, with your wonderful heart that is what you more than deserve. Sometimes life can take hard turns and you to places you wonder why you are standing in but never lose hope. I say that having stood in these places. I may not want to admit that. But I am not one of these, oh life is wonderful people. I am a believer that life is about finding your way through the cracks that can swallow you and always embracing the hope of tomorrow and what it could bring you. And it has brought me things I never imagined, things I never thought would turn round have turned out not so bad, so hang on in. The tough bit is remembering no matter where you are, there is always a tomorrow x
