Yep, this is definitely on our ‘must visit’ list. Probably 2020, all being well. Looks absolutely amazing, full of history, stunning architecture…and ghosts
Cat we are going back next year. We will head when it is a bit warmer probably May. Not cos of me despite my Raynaud’s–the Mr was the one who fair felt the cold despite being wrapped to the gunnels. I just don’t. It was warmer than here but a diff kind of cold. I could breathe that much. And we just love the biz of street food/theatre/music so he would prefer that. It is a lovely. lovely city in every way and yes full of ghosts. Some bits were so moving, the Holocaust Memorial Synagogue was throat clutching, as for the Anthropoid church crypt, especially the bottom of the stairs …well… So yep. A city I recommend xx
I shall look forward to more photos and stories when you return from your next trip there, Shey!
Lol . yes we shall try to behave again as we did this time xxxx
I love, love Prague! I had the chance to visit Prague for two summers in a row, and I’d go back tomorrow if I could. It’s rich with history, art, and culture. Thanks for sharing Shey! I love your little hanster buddies too.
We are going back next year. It is a lovely lovely city. I’d make it sooner but we have a few things here planned so…. Love from the wee fellahs xxxxxxx
Hi Shey! I love your new post. I love, love Prague! You should share your link on Pen and Muse. I tried to, but it wouldn’t let me. Hope all is well with you, my friend. Hugs, Bobbie ❤ –

I would love to visit Prague. And yet, I am happy as I am traveling to Spain, France and Italy next Tuesday. 😀✋😀 hope your trip is/was amazing, dear She. Thanks for sharing…. love and best wishes 😘🔺♥️

Thanks my friend. Xxoo 😘🔺😘

‘Roads nearly killed on ? None’ quite the opposite to my first ever visit to Paris all those years ago when I let go of the hand of a then very little George at the traffic lights that turned green in an instant; then dropped clutches and speed nearly killed the poor lad. Plainly, you have a gift I do not. Most glad you both had a fine time. Regards, Jealous from Dover.
Well Mike… here in Dundee we just step oott in front of the traffic all the time so Prague wis no bother. AND unlike in Rome the cars stopped. As for here in Dundee? Three words. Are you joken? (joking….)
Mike…PS… re Paris, I ain’t even going to talk about our one and only visit there …. Some secrets are meant to be kept.. x
Good point. Paris is made for secrets, Ms S.
LOL!
Looks like a fabulous visit to a beautiful city. No wonder the dudes are jealous and crotchety. Bobby Bub is so hot when he throws around words like Kafkesque.

Glad you are having a great break Shey. You’ve scared the dudes silly. 🙂 ❤ xoxoxo
Well Ralpha, this I would like to believe… xx
Wonderful post, great shots and the Hamsters are a riot!
The best, though, are the pics of you. You are so beautiful! You are the heroine in all of your novels. You should don one of my Art Gowns, have your pic taken…. and that would be a book cover! xoxo
OMG, I would love that. Give my eye teeth. I truly fear I am too old and these pics are too flattering xxx. Honest. Such kinds words of yours. Honestly too YOur Art Gowns are just ..well you must know how much I love them xxxxx
I would love it, too! You are an Art Gown Girl! xxxx
I LOVE your gowns. So I will go about today smiling that you think I am that xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx you
I’m so envious. Gorgeous photos and I love your counting of events.
Oh just daft. It was a weekend break but hey going for it, going for it. And a wonderful city xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You are gorgeous, and you look like you’re 18.
Hell..I only wish. God, the things I would tell myself if I only was. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Leslie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx you truly.
The shadow pic at the top of the post is amazing. Can’t stop looking at it ~ George
Lol George, it’s me. I confess I took it to scare the dudes. Just glanced down and saw it (when we were still a bit pit oot by having headed off for the airport at 3 am in pouring rain and fog and getting into the wrong car park and all.) (Then having arrived in Prague, trying to work the map…) Couldnae help myself –never can–in terms of thinking, hey bag that. So thank you. I mean that. Cos I know you get some great captures, far far better than this. It just seemed Golem-ish somehow.
I’ve got so many shadow photographs. Ever since I got compared with The Pan in terms of me – so they say – refusing to grow up, shadows, especially human ones make for the best pics. You should print and frame this one ~ George
Well, I just might George xxxxxxx
Prague is such a romantic magical city and your photographs really do it justice.Plus you make one pretty mean golem shadow! Well done for getting him working… fear is obviously the key. And that is kafkaeque in itself! Px.
Lol…I got me uses…NOT… It is a lovely city x
And you do it justice beautifully Px
Paul xxxx
What a fun visit and definitely see that you walked around quite a bit!! Loved the pictures as well….but how was the drinking water? *LOL*
Oh the Mr and I are walkers…Not in the Zombie sense. It just made a change walking on the level. The drinking water was the best. Especially in this Irish bar where it said live music. That consisted of tables standing up and outsinging the juke box in turn. Only in an Irish Bar. Only in Prague xxxx
Great post. I’ve visited it twice but i’d like to go there again
Such a wonderful city Luisa. We are going back next year to see some the things we didn’t manage. xxx
I agree, Prague is wonderful
What an amazing place. I hope I can visit it someday. – Marty
It was brilliant, Marty, and if you can, catch it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Lovely photos. I am so so pleased you went. It is one of the great cities.
It is a wonderful city. And we are going back — everything being willing.. I don’t like to quote these amazingly brave young men at the Anthrppoid church but .. nothing will stop us. xxxx
Fab photos Shey. ‘Specially love the one of you looking weaponly in front of Kafka! ❤ xxxx
LOL!!… I was doing me best, Sistah, to sound it for us weaponz xxxxxxxxx And you know I had my Tee shirt from the play which I sometimes wear, totally forgetting that I based the overall look of that on Kafka…. The museum staff were wearing black tee shirts that said…staff.. in big white letters…. x
You fit in perfectly my dahlink! LOL xxxxxxxxxx
Lolxxxxx
wow, it looks amazing place. One of these days I will visit, and drink lots of cocktails too. I’m glad you and hubby had a brilliant time and that the dudes behaved when you were away. ehrm, you better be writing little dude. xxx
CHptr nin. CHiptir tin…
❤
It is a great city Adele. Quite the place to drink cocktails x
❤
I suspect you didn’t visit the top floor of the synagogue where the Golem is supposed to be, but other than that – what a fantastic trip, Shey and Mr!
Oh there was a lot we didn’t visit. But yep a great fun trip to a lovely city xxxxxxxxxxxxx
You did hear the legend, though, didn’t you? About the Nazi soldiers who went to investigate what the Jews were hiding on that top floor and came out stark raving mad… Nobody is allowed there.
Well Dolly, I have well heard it now. And it is quite brilliantly amazing x
Great pics
Thank you so much. I’m not exactly the world’s best photographer. I think Prague made them look okay xxxxx
They were more than okay. xo
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx you xx
💖💖💖💖🔥🔥🔥
xxxxxxxxxx
Are you monetizing your blog?
No. I don’t.
I think it’s one of the most romantic places!
It is indeed xxxxx
Beautiful share… wonderful
🤗🤗🤗
👌👌👌
A wonderful city. I loved it.
A fascinating trip that for sure you have enjoyed it in a big way.
It was short but wonderful and we are going back next year. Such a beautiful city.
What a fabulous trip! How exciting to be walking the same streets as Kafka, just soaking up all that creativity! Will there be a book set in Prague next?? xox
LOl. You never know Pam. Sometimes how my books work out quite surprise me…. It was awonder4ful trip and we are going back next year. xx
Thanks for sharing the adventure. I need to add Prague to my list, it seems.😍
I reckons you would enjoy it Sistah, It is a great city xxxxx
Wonderful photos, Shey. I really can see Lady Fury on one of those beer mugs. 🙂
I love it. She was a bar owner’s daughter after all originally… It was a wonderful place Carol, even the photos came out not too badly. A lovely city in every way.
What a lovely time–and inspiration for stories galore, I bet!
We had a wonderful time Jean. Looking forward to going back too. xxxx
And I look forward to the hamster dudes winging about sharing all those pictures too. 😉 xxxxxxxx
They will. They will have much to whinge about soon. Just about ready to get Destiny out there xxxxxx
I visited Prague years ago with my hubby and loved it. Love your pics and your list of what you did! I bet the hamstas were jealous I know I am!
Yeah, a fellow Prag—I dunno what we call those who love Prague but yeah!. It is a great place, isn’t it? We did all we wanted to do and set out to do so, plus things we just were passing and thought..okay…. let’s go in, we were fair thrilled re that. AND the best? There’s a secondary list…. Keeping it for next year. You will just have to get your hubby to go back … Lovely to hear from you and thank you, we did have a fab time.
Yes I’d love to go back one day. In fact I hope to do more travelling once I escape the workplace. Lol. One can dream… Alot get the hamtas to make my dreams come true!
Now then.. I am just imagining them with their fairy wants and wands….(OOPZ) going, it is all taken care of my children And . I–( stroke that out) SHE .. is so out of here. So I am sure you will go back. The Mr and I travelled many years back to some well off the map places where we lived in ways I seldom share, knowing two things. One they would never come again and then is not now, so yeah sometimes we still escape in a diff way x

$i tu la laisses s’envoler
tu auras du mal à la rattraper
L’amitié est un joyau
Comme les battements du cœurs
Le bonheur, comme tous les délices
N’est entier que lorsqu’il est partagé
Je te souhaite une agréable journée OU soirée
bisous.Bernard
My friend, thank you for your beautiful message and even more for what I see here. A Mucha. x
This an incredible work of art. It will be appreciated for years to come.
Thank you 👍👍👍!
Moss xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for coming by. Always nice to see you x
wow!! marvelous post! marvelous city and you look marvelous too! Thanks for cheering me up this morning!
Cybele… YOU have well cheered me up . Truly. In fact xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for your kind words. What a city. We loved it and can’t wait to go back.
Oh I love you, Shey – you are gorgeous! Your smile in front of the Kafka museum is my favorite 🙂 , and love the clock tower, yes, and your thoughtful ways of getting the hamsters 🐹 to comply. 😁
And you are way too kind my lovely Ka. The clock is the oldest working mechanical clock in Europe. And after it was made, the maker was blinded so he could never reproduce it…. Nice eh? I never told the dudes that one. I feel I was most thoughtful in getting them to oblige….. The Kafka Museum was interesting. It was a how he might have interpreted certain events in Prague instead of anything to do with his life. And the hanging dollies bit was a representation of this true story about an old woman who used to wheel this old pram everywhere, then people didn’t see her for a bit and they eventually broke into her house to check on her and found she’d died. But the dollies had been lovingly put to bed and all their clothes had been washed and were hanging up on a clothes line. Quite a story.
Didn’t feel like I was being too kind 🙂 just being honest. Love those boots! Very cool about the clock. I did a quick glance at the Wikipedia on it, as I’ve always been drawn to it. Discovered that they updated the clock as recently as 2018. Wow about the dollies. I’ll give another look soon. Agree with that golem photo of the eye-lights: nice capture, and well situated in your written post. One of your many talents, and your signature style of story telling, well-positioned.
The dollies……That’s both eerie and sweet, what a combo! And makes it all the more interesting. Happy travels to you Shey, and your Mr.
Big crowds gather for the clock chime every hour. It’s amazing to think how old it is. it is really beautiful. I wondered about the dollies and the old lady, whether she’d lost children or never had any. But she faithfully took them out every day in that pram. I couldn’t resist the golem pic! I took it specially for the dudes. You are very sweet then, truly. I mean that. I like me my boots. I got to say. The funniest bit that day was I had I bunged on my t shirt from the Mr’s play where I had the whole cast dressed in black with whatever they were meant to be from the play title emblazoned on the t shirt. I actually got the idea from Kafka of us all being workers and playing the whole thing from the big old mill machines. Anyway we hadn’t planned on doing that museum at all, we just happened to pass it so.. When we got in the staff there were all dressed in black and their t shirts said Staff… I just about got in for nothing. I think they thought I was a big fan.

Nice share. Prague is so enlightening. ❤❤❤❤❤
It’s a wonderful city, We loved it.
Awesome! Maybe one day I will visit there. And, I enjoyed
your little docent storyteller. LOL! Thanks again for sharing.
We are going back next year, we loved it so much, so there you go. We’ll just go at a slightly warmer time. It was warmer than Scotland but a very different kind of cold and the Mr. felt it. We had to stop every now and then for some warm wine from the street stalls. The sacrifice was terrible…. Thank you for commenting. So glad you enjoyed the little dudes today xxxx

Bonjour ou Bonsoir BELLE SHEHANNE
Tu vois
Avec beaucoup de sincérité
Je suis mon cœur

Tendre la main à qui en a besoin
Sans en espérer un retour
Juste se dire que c’était bien
Alors s’installe une belle harmonie avec soi-même

Profite bien , belle journée

Bernard, my friend xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to you and yours and the best of the weekend too.
You should write me while u were in prague.. I could be your tourist Guide 🙂 🙂 Hope u enjoyed ur time anyway. Prague is beautiful city
It is a lovely city and we are hoping to go back. We did indeed enjoy it and sorry not to meet you x
:] if you go back any time, get in touch.. I would love to meet with you
I will. We are thinking next year. We really did love it xxxxxx
How fun! You are so pretty & have such a great sense of style 🙂
And YOU are way, way too kind, lovely da-AL. Smiling cos I just get all my clothes from this woman who does a shift in charity shop and it’s quite shocking the amount that gets heaved. So she give me them. Even the bags. The Kafta get up I never thought about having on that day. It’s the tee shirt I wore in my Mr’s play. And you know I directed that and made the overall look Kafta.. So the entire cast was dressed in lettered Tee shirts saying what we were from the title. Anyway we goes past that museum and I thought oh let’s go in, when in Prague do Kafka. . And all the staff were dressed like this with tee shirts saying STAFF. Well I got in free cos I think they thought I was this huge fan! xxxxx
What a great story from start to finish! I had a friend who owned a used clothing store & she’d pick out the best stuff for me, better than I’ve ever chosen on my own 🙂
You cannot beat other folks’ cast offs. Honest. I have like 50 scarfs. 80 bags… 30 coats. 20 jackets, bursting cupboards everywhere. It totally indulges the fact that growing up I had nothing. But now I don’t have to wear the same thing twice. So yeah. I think bring it on and I love that your friend picks out the best for you.
