We are not going to be able to go out Mike. MR. has a chest infection. I should be in hospital but there s no beds. Fortunately for the first time in years, we never had any plans so we have not spent money on ticket for meals etc. Also you have to watch pneumonia. If you do to much it comes back. I do love Runrig. Heard Donny Munroe play at a West End…as in Dundee West End…Celtic Music fest about a18 months ago. He is still brilliant but god, there was like 14 people there. Mike, Eilis was on about this awful Aussie flu. Now I pay no heed to such media trash especially when in the white trash media but seriously when I did take a look it was horribly familiar. For us this started wi wee man in the October hols. We were blaming on his fancy jag but he has never been right on and off with the same symptoms and he gave whatever it was first to his, mum dad and my Mr. I have been ill for 6 weeks now and every time you get better as I was the week before Christmas, back it comes..WORSE than before. This flu is leading to pneumonia for many people and then there’s other complications that are now causing fatalities. I believe these are caused by the fever. My temp was down at 41 when I got to the GP. I actually thought what the hell is she fussing about? I was melting ice cubes in 3 seconds flat during the night, just be touching them. It was like having a super power. So 41 is nothing. It’s good. It’s the right direction. Anything over 40 in a n adult can cause oragn damage. I didn’t know that. So what I am saying is keep your eye on Lord Zoo. I mean it. I know you will. Hopefully this is just a viral cold thing but you never know xxxxxxxxxx
Well that sounds very serious. I’ve noted he’s up and about today – wearing a heavy coat even though the central heating is pumping out full on. Then again he was boiling alive yesterday. Reading your comments re high temps took me back 20 years when I acquired meningitis and marble sized beads of sweat were pouting out of me during 3 unsuccessful lumber punctures. I hope that soon you all will be well again. I take it you’re not out on the razzle this eve?
We can’t go out. Too unwell. First time in like the mid 90s. Just one of these things. I had planned a meal. I know I loves the razzle but the fact is I can razzle round these pubs anytime. I personally like someone with a dance. We were asked places but I also didnae fancy the fortune for the taxi this year . Anyway we never even had our meal OR a drink. I’d leave the UK tomorrow without regret for a stunning tropical paradise (that would have me! lol 🙂 ) and be an occasional beach-bum author for the rest of my days. No no. The Mr. and I never arranged anything for the first time ever. I do love the Ferry but we can go down any night and pub crawl etc. Our neighbours invited to join them down there but we had already decided with being so unwell for weeks to have a quiet Hogmanay. We had also been invited out with my cousins. But again, hung fire. If we had been able to get tickets for the Forgan’s meal and ceilidh down the road we would have wasted money on that since we can’t go out but we couldn’t. Also I had taken over the New Year do with the Mrs’. folk’s after his brother’s wife wasn’t great. I have had to drop that too. I think the immediate family will pop in. Cor and Daniel will do a very basic buffet and she is organising some stuff for me. I have a few games not played on Christmas and it will be just a few hours. that is as much as I can take right now of anything at all. Hogmanay, if we are well enough for a wee meal here we will, but right now I doubt it xxxxx to you and hope your’s is good

Cath, thank you. We are not able to have any celebrations tonight. My MR. has a chest infection as well. Fortunately we never booked anything this year, so it is just a nice meal for us at home I have cancelled. But I’ve also had to cancel tomorrow’s big day. (Which I took on to do after the Mr’s brother’s wife wasn’t well. ) I am however promised that my girls will come, one hubby is promised too and maybe a wee man if he is up for it, maybe his dad might come and they will make a buffet from the stuff I bought for during the hols and we will have a cinema/tv music quiz, maybe a few carefully chosen silly games. Just a few hours all told. No more. I t till be wonderful and no work for me. I hope you have a great time yourself with loved ones. May 2018 be the best x
Oh my gosh, poor you! I know of what you speak because I have it over here, too. Hit hard soon after the last of my company left (nine days of entertaining!). Fever, chills, horrible cough, but nothing moving out of my lungs. Been taking all kinds of homeopathic stuff. Seems to be moving slowly out, but it’s the second time around for this in two weeks so I know about that, too. I think it comes from overextending yourself and not getting enough rest — I’m looking at you, Missy — so forget the blog; go take a nap! Happy New Year, Shey. Oh no, that is so unfair for you, Shey. If it’s not the oven door falling off, it’s you being assaulted by vicious viruses and bacteria. What a trooper, to keep going. Some of my friends had a nasty flu over Christmas, too, so it’s down south, too. Come to think of it, these particular friends had the flu jab but it obviously didn’t work. Must be a new strain of flu not covered by the jab. If you’re not on any medication to help you recover and fight off post-flu fatigue, I would recommend a Chinese herb called Astragalus. It’s brilliant stuff. When I felt slightly off at the beginning of December, I took it three times a day for two weeks and, touch wood, I’m still okay.

The flu isn’t the worry , the pneumonia is. I have double strength of the highest anti biotics you can get. (Actually BTO, the real worry on Thursday was the temp at 45. I don’t know what they were fussing at, It was far higher. I had got it down. ) Lol, quietest Hogmanay and New Year on record for us. The Mr has a chest infection xxxxxx
OMG, 45+ is horrendous and so scary. I’ve managed 40 before with flu and my heart was beating so hard, I thought it was going to jump out of my chest and my head felt fit to explode. I do hope that you recover soon and that Mr isn’t treating his chest infection like man-pneumonia. I am feeling very sorry for you. It’s an utterly miserable start to the year. xxxxxxxxxxx

Oh poor you, I was reading the comments, you scared me. You have to add to your diet something with high Ca and vitamin C. And also you have to believe me on this, as you write about the vikings – read about Reindeer Moss (Lichen), Cladonia. It is a great cure for pneumonia. I am an expert, trust me. I used to have pneumonia every year. My personal favorite, though, is Cetraria, or Icelandic moss. When boiled, Icelandic Moss forms a gelatinous mass. It is bitter like hell, but packed with natural antibiotics. If you add it to your tea 3-4 time a day, your pneumonia will heal in a week. Just read, and may be you will find it somewhere online.
