Oh guys… you have done Greyfriar’s Bobby proud and if only Walt was alive today for he would be making movies with you as the stars for sure.. Forget The Lady and the Tramp and 101 Dalmations….. Hipster Hamstahs Hit the Spot… grand tour thank you..xxx
Dearest Sally, we are glad you understand how that film and that statue should be us. ….

๐๐คฃ๐That museum is on my list ๐๐คฃ๐
๐Thank youโฃ๏ธ๐
Dina it is a fabulous place and the best bit is that it is free. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The best time to visit Edinburgh is in the summer. The streets are full of performers and the museum has lunchtime concerts too.
I realise I know more of your (Scottish) history than I do of my own! My favourite line: ‘It is so not fair the Bonnie Prince was not a Hamster’ ๐ โค And imagine the furore had Greyfriars Bobby been a dude too – the world would be a different place and Hamsters would rule!!
Lol. Indeed it would be a different place. Bobby should have been a dude. I totally agree. I think Silv is doing well to keep the whining in about, I am sure she will be handing the dudes lovely Bonnie prince wigs and all… Glad you got a laugh Pauline xxxxxxxxxxxx
I need to revisit Edinburgh some day. Our time there was too short to do much sightseeing. Perhaps I need to take the hamsters along as guides.
Believe me, they will only cause havoc……. xxxxxxxx
I like a little havoc now and again.
they will sign you up then xxxxxxxxxx

Brilliant post Dudes about Bonny Prince Hampstah and Flora Mac’amstah. Just loved it. I’ll tell you what you are very lucky guys managing and handling the PR of that cool looking bird in her kilt, boots and black jacket standing next to that statue of that strange looking hamptah: Greyfriar’s Bobby the Hampster (Who is she? Looks like some famous author to me!)
Lol…. the author must send you the agreed sum of 40 quid xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Maybe I can take the hamstahs on a spooky trip around Aberdeen?!
My darling, they will wear their hats…. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
t Edinburgh!—> sounds like a perfect place to visit… Thanks for this cool post, dear She… I love the first pic of you (before/after, as time goes by, BTW)… It reminded me of a the movie “Smoke”, based on a novel by Paul Auster. One of the characters is quite obssesed about snapping shots of the very same place, at the same exact time… and he does so for many years.. It is a good way to “catch” Time… as Time is sometimes defined as a continuum space-time… Well it is quite abstract, I know… But you get me, donยดt you!?: I love the idea of a pic taken in the same place, years later! ๐ xx Hugs and happy week ahead! โค
I did that pic for a giggle Aquileana. We had stopped off for a glass of wine at the famous Bobby pub just across from the statue. But I totally get what you mean re time which was why I did it. I was hoping to try and recreate it exactly but there were so many tourists though and there’s all this row going on…quite rightly so…about these folks who sail past and just touch Bobby’s nose, wrecking the statue and any pics others are lining up to take, so you have to be really quick. Anyway it was a great day. Lots of street theatre and music because of the Fringe, we saw perfrpomers from Soweto …I must get the pics added of them. I am quite surprised to think of all we packed in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I want to go to the museum! I want to take the hamstahs with me too ๐ I’m going to have to hop my way back through time and take it all in with the characters of The Writer & The Rake ๐
Yes, that is what to do, just watch that Brittany doesn’t waylay you into a nightclub though. She won’t be allowed in anywhere cos she chain smokes…. But I am sure if you don’t mind falling about the streets with her, or hopping with the hamsters, you will be fine. x That museum is fabulous. I said to Kate, you could spend the day and while the exhibitions aren’t free, the museum itself is. We were through at festival time, so there was a free concert in that bit on the photograph at lunchtime, well worth stopping for. xx
Oh it all does sound wonderful! I wish I had been there with you all ~ Another time โค
I think you would like Edinburgh xxxxxxx
The little guys give a great history lesson- many thanks for a look at a new place! Love the two pictures at the top as well ๐
Aw Anne… 30 quid in the post. I got that one taken for a giggle. We had to stop off and see the wee dug . The dudes are just heartbroken none of this involved hamsters. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You and the dudes teach us ignorant Sassenachs more about Scotland’s noble history. Brilliantly done. And the pics with Greyfriar’s Bobby are adorable. Loving that Edinburgh museum building – and I hear there’s a Writers’ Museum too. Cool!
I think I probably just scratched the surface with the amount of writers associated with Edinburgh in some way. There’s literary tours and all there of course the city is host to a big book festival every year. R M Ballantyne was also born there. Glad you liked the noble history…lol…even if it brought tears to SIlv’s eyes/ The exhibition was well worth seeing. Unfortunately photography was not allowed so I couldn’t get any of it. The Museum itself is free and well worth the vist. There was a lunchtime concert and all on that day in that bit in the photograph. But you could spend a day there alone. There’s also the National Portrait gallery– that’s quite a place too. Greyfriar’s Bobby? Need to up that postal payment to you Kate. xxxxxx
Bless his little shiny nose. Greyfrairs Bobby I mean, not Hamstah Dickens. Love Edinburgh. The history, culture, fab restaurants, the castle and Holyroodhouse, Greyfriars Kirkyard and my favourite of all – the Real Mary King’s Close.
Dear Cat,
How deeply and bitterly are we sobbing on behalf of the worthy master, that it is not his nose you are blessing……..
The sobbing dudes.
Oh little hammies. Hamstah Dickens hasn’t got a shiny nose and I didn’t want anyone to think I was implying that he allowed people – and hamsters – to rub his until it was all brassy and shiny like Greyfriars Bobby’s. Hamstah Dickens has a perfectly cute little nose
Dear Cat
It ain’t often I replies tah anyone but that them there Kate for whom mah green hat does have a passion seein as she has quite expressed her love for mah green hat, but anyone tryin’ tah rub that then there Dickens’ nose would be lucky tah keep their them there fingers. So doan’ you go aplogizin’ tah him. An’ Ps. What you said about his them there writin’ wis nutthin’ but the truth..
Love Bobby B.
Dear Cat, ignore them. You are right. It is a great city xxx
Can’t wait for my next visit but it will be next year now I think
Aw… it is a way for you to come. We generally go for a day in the summer, either take in the blues fest, or tif not, take in the street performers, maybe an exhibition, or museum, a wee lunch in one of our fav pubs. We would have stayed over but we left it too late and were not paying triple price for a room. x
Now then Bobby Bub, I would expect no less. Hamstah Dickens with a shiny nose? The very idea!
I’m watching Outlander (series 1) on the TV at the moment, and there’s a great deal of secretive money-raising going on in the Highlands for the Jacobite cause. I’ve not seen a hamster in the Laird’s castle yet, not even with its whiskery nose poking out of a sporran xxxx
Well, see authenticity? I am going to shut up. But the dudes now? They should have well been involved. x
I would venture to suggest that if you ever think you see a whiskery nose poking out of a sporran, a visit to an optician might be in order… Just sayin’ ๐
Lol xxxxxxxx
Thank heavens for my varifocals…not that I often see sporran’s down south! ๐
LOL!
Great post, great city. Love your cute photographs and the statue. I had spent three fantastic days in Edinburgh and wrote a blog post about my stay. Greyfriar’s graveyard, Bobby’s story and a couple of ghost stories won’t be forgotten. Hope to visit again some day.
The Dudes took over your blog, apparently. Some say the world will end on September 23, but I think they have got it all wrong. I think the Total World Domination by hamsters is approaching… xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
the world domination by dudes? Apart from running in wheels? I at least hope folks would love, laugh, not be hungry, not be greedy. Nice forlorn hope. Edinburgh is full of ghost stories. . Next time you visit, let us know, we could tell ghost stories together xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I will! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Yay xxx
Actually forget that biz of world domination by dudes…..We would all be hungry cos they would eat everything and fight all the time xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Die Erste..my love for this xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You mean Walt Disney wasn’t Walt Hamstah?!!!! Absolutely loved this post, perfectly narrated by the Dudes. Lovely picture, I see your cheeky smile is still with you ๐ You brought back childhood reading memories “Treasure Island” and “Ivanhoe” xxx
AW….. thrilled you lovely my darling xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The dudes are still sobbing their hearts out that it was NOT Walt hamstah. Somehow they believed…… xxxxxxxxxxxx
I understand their woe, we all need a little fairytale in life xxxxxxxxx
Hee hee. We do indeed.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I did love Treasure island as a kid and that is my copy. Still treasured and we had that copy of Ivanhie in our house but I don’t know where it went xxxxx
Loved the festival pics. And who knew the dudes have a literary family all of their own? Robert Louis Hamster and Arthur Hamster Doyle, imagine that! Where have I been? I have so much to learn from these little dudes. ๐ โค xxxxxxxxxxx
Dearest Debby, the world did not know how literary we are, as you can see and the books we have writ, Dr JeKILL and Mr Hamstah. Ivan Hamstah Hamstah Holmes. The Hamster of the Baskervilles, Hamster Roy. the Hamster of Lammermoor, and that all time classic, Hamster Island.
love the dudes x
Lolllllllllllllllllllllllll, I’m cracking up!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you guys. I’m so impressed with your literary accolades. I hope I can write as many books as you guys one day! Big hugs! xoxoxxxxxxxx
Oh…we almost forgot we also wrote the The Bride of Hamstermoore….
Love the little dudes x
Ahh…such a sweet photo of you as young by the statue of faithful Bobby! I often paused by it when in Edinburgh- it is an amazing capital city and you’ve captured the artistic buzz of it brilliantly and non more so than with the video of the singers and dancers from Soweto…fantastic and I didn’t want it to stop!! ๐โค๏ธ
Annika….so kind. (Lol..I just looked sweet) We always go for a day in the summer, take in the streets basically. But also see anything like that exhibition. We were quite surprised at everything we managed to do that afternoon basically. xxxxxxxxx

Thoroughly enjoyed your post ..like always
Thrilled you liked it. We were only there a few hours all told but amazed at all we managed to do that day. xxxxxxxxx
Hi Doll, howโs my Shey? Well, I hope.
Iโm back, been on a journey with a bloated blionare guru and his sleazy lawyer suing me for fake copyright claims, but, there is a happy ending, I got my blog back because his claims of copyright of my photos are as credible as his claims of being Jesus/Buddha.
Miss you and the dudes, glad to be back writing poetry and blogging.
I must buy your new book, link, I need a link, for a Canadian purchase.
xoxo ๐
Well…I did wonder where you were. Copyright? I must say, what copy wright? EXCEPT when I see this ‘baloney,’ Noticeably the billionaire says how they got there. Chewing my tongue here. AND restraining the dudes. Listen I am just glad to see you back. Send me an email on my contact form okay https://shehannemoore.wordpress.com/contact/ I will give you that link xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Done, I sent you the request for the link to buy your new book on your Contact page.
For the life of me Iโll never figure out what possessed the slimy muppet guru Rajinder Singh Duggal, who get this: Rajinder Singh, is his name when he does his โholy manโ shtick, and, Rajinder Duggal, is his name when he sells red carpet and pageant queen dresses, like I said, itโs so bizarre the entire ordeal belongs in a sordid movie.
But, it was hell to go through, I was sleep deprived for the couple of months during the terrorizing the fake guru claimed copyright over my photos, I mean, you remember, Shey, when I had this posted last summer on a different blog, yet, he cleaned it was his photo, this one, and many others, here is the one pic:
I emailed yah and I do remember that picture and I will email you some more about anyone taking you down xxx.
I’d not heard of Ella Roberts. Stunning voice and the understated melody works, showcasing that voice. A voice like that is an musical instrument in itself. I’ll check out some more of her work.
Lord George, I hadn’t either but I was looking for a dent, not twee version of the song that had ben entirely hijacked by Outlander and I felt that was the best I came across without wading through tons. I will contact you this weekend re coming by here for an interview. The dudes can’t wait xxxxx
I somehow missed this post, Shey, and it is awesome. I am so interested to see performers from Soweto in Edinburgh. The world has become such a small place. My son, Greg, loves the Sherlock Holmes books and has read them a number of times. I didn’t know that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle hailed from Scotland.
Indeed, he was from Edinburgh. At festival time the streets are full of performers here for the Fringe. We usually nip through for a day to take it all in. We saw other performers last year from the Soweto school of music at an outdoor event which was some kind of music festival. The bit we went to was at the Grassmarket and there were three areas there with bands on back to back simultaneously. So they obviously try to come through regularly. Great to see you Robbie x
amazing, something
for animal lovers
and everybody ๐
Aw, thank you. You have made my day xxxxx

Those poor little guys. It sounds like they need to right the wrongs of history by forming their own little Hamster Edinburgh to fill with their Hamster literary geniuses! Reminds me a little of Disney’s THE RESCUERS where there’s the United Nations, and then the Mouse version of United Nations… ๐
But this looks positively lovely, Shey, and so full of life! I love the shot comparison by the statue, too, you spitfire! ๐ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Lol…they got most emotional. I fear we will see several weeping posts now. Edinburgh is a great city, totally buzzes at festival time. Did that photo for a giggle xxxxxxxxxxx
Actually the GREAT POST to start with. The fact is I am craving to visit Edinburgh, the museum with the dudes, will they accompany me…haha. The scottish history seems to be very interesting that made me curious to read more and to make a visit there very sooon I guess. This is not done how someone can write this much intriguing post, lol. I have enjoyed it to the fullest and the images and dudes are awesome. Cherishing those old good blog days. So here I am, missing and visiting my fav ALWAYS.

It is so not fair.
Love from
The dudes x
Age is just a number.
You are an evergreen gorgeous beauty ma’am.
Lots of love to you ma’am โค
My beautiful Tajwar, you are beautiful AND kind. All my love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Ahhhh, what precious photos of child and adult. And what an educational piece throughout from Bonnie Prince Charles to the Soweto dancers/singers to the three iconic Scotland writers. So glad I backtracked to this post. Looks like you had an enjoyable day at museum and festival.
PS: On a not so positive note, why do I find myself reading out loud in a Transylvania drawl? Maybe it’s the wine? Perhaps I shouldn’t drink while reading the hamsters’ words.
Lol..well quite a lot of years between these two pics. Edinburgh is a great city, especially during Festival time. The streets are full of performers. The Royal Mile especially. We also caught a lunchtime concert in the museum. Actually can’t believe we did so much in quite a short space of time cos the bus was late getting in and we also had a wander round St. Giles and a lunch. Glad you enjoyed and may you conteenue to seepk een Transylvanian drrrawl… Ees a good von….
love the festival!!! That pic of you is wonderful!
ยฃ0 quid , or do you prefer dollars in the post…. x

Shouldah said ยฃ50. My internet connection just gets worse and worse.
It was fun reading your post. Loved to learn about Scotland! ๐
Aw my lovely Carol, thank you so much. I couldn’t resist a wee Scottish post on this occasion. I’m thrilled you enjoyed it. x
