and many seasonal hamsters to you!!!
LOL. To you too, with bows of holly x
🙂
I knew a gal called Vi King back in the day. A formidable woman…she always made me row the ship on pain of death. Our one-sided relationship ended with me a quivering crumpled wreck. That said, and as ever, a lovely read Ms S.
Never!!! But you obviously survived, despite you being reduced to a quivering wreck. I suppose she had a helmet of holly. Seriously, thank you MIke x
I just adore your work with the mantles, and the themed displays throughout your home. It’s all absolutely gorgeous–just like you, O Lovely Lady Shey. xxxxxxxxxx
That said, it’s also fun to hear some of your research. I know one of my sins as a writer is to find the bare basics of what I need and move on. The context of the historical fact is just as important as the fact itself, as your discoveries in contradiction clearly show.
And blessings of the season upon your furry crew. 🙂
My darling Lady jean, you are way too kind. (The dudes for example, don’t need blessed!! —lol!) Seriously, you are very kind. Re research, I tend to go looking for certain sideways stuff if you get me. Viking and Courtesan felt difficult for me to tackle because of the slavery issue and of course the book is more of a romp than anything. But I was trying to get at how this man had come to raid and to sell slaves. It was interesting to note that the Vikings did this because the land, the money, the lot went to the oldest son and it left the other sons with nothing and no hope of land because that land was taken. So these guys who were basically farmers set out to deal and tread in human misery. It put a slightly diff slant on them. Obviously I write sex but I’m really not interested in gratuitous, or every deviation going when it comes to writing that. I am interested in how that plays out, how it can be used, So I was looking at how the heroine who is from 1819 might perceive this Viking–plainly as a raider– but also how he might perceive himself– which is as a not so bad guy really and it did cause me to look up about how the Saxon women saw the Vikings and yeah there were some surprises there. SO it is good to take facts in context
I was going to say, I love your trees and all your decorations too! I just got some fairly basic stuff this year, as well as a parrot, whom I’d bought as a Halloween addition to my pirate costume, but he’s still hanging about.
LMAO!!! Put him up ! Laughing cos in my wip there’s stuffed parrots and the delusional heroine thinks they are lovely things.
Good idea, I should totally put some photos of my Christmas decor 🙂 Looking forward to reading that work! Does it have a title yet?
It is called O’Roarke’s Destiny—. you darling xxxxxx
You never fail to raise a smile…and a warning. Poor thralls.
I know…. Not the best thing to be x
Hi Shey 🙂
So Christmas is almost upon us. Thank you for sharing your Christmas decorations BEFORE your hamsters had got their teeth into them. I do hope that you at least have one Christmas tree looking like a Christmas tree on Christmas day and not looking like a chewed twig. I am sure that one of your future posts will tell the story.
Take care my friend. xox ❤
I am sure they will behave although I do have some wooden trees…… I am hoping you have wonderful plans for the day itself my friend. We don’t want the dudes deciding to pack their suitcases and inflict their furry selves. I am sure they will share more pics soon. xx
Wonderful as always, Shey. It is such fun to see the Santas and the nutcrackers out in force again. It must take you hours to do all the decorations, but is well worth it. Congrats on the reviews which are well deserved – you have such an original take on everything, including thralls and decorations. I am hoping to see the Dudes in party hats next week!
It does take me a while to do the decs but I just do a wee bit every day till it is done. And thank you for your kind words. You are always so generously encouraging. Oh the dudes will be back with hats and all soon. I am sure they are hatching something. Silv is seldom so helpful xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oooh, t’will be a sight to behold! I can’t wait.
It will be a sight…I reckon that much is true x
A very beautiful post it is. Especially I loved that Christmas tree of yours. And all the decoration looks pretty good too. And those book reviews, they are mindblowing and writing too. Some facts about viking men I came to know. It is a very interesting post. Thanks for sharing with us. Lots and lots of love to you 💓💓💓💓💋💋💋
Aw my darling, you made my day re the tree. Just in the process of redoing that room and I had no idea where to put that tree at one point! I had it all decorated and in the window but my Mr didn’t like it there, so I had to lift it up —yeah–and move it to the right. (I won’t tell you where I nearly moved it at that point .) I was thrilled by the reviews cos I have had a prob re waiting for edits on two of my books, one set are here now, so I was pretty fed up and these fair cheered me up. Glad you enjoyed and the facts on Viking men xxxxxx.
Haha, I am sure it is looking good wherever you put that very beautiful tree. I always enjoy all your posts honestly just because the use of those hamsters, lovely. And just because you are one of those favorite bloggers here because of which I enjoy blogging. Thank “you” 💓💓💓
I love your posts too. They are a great mixture of past and present. Always so true too. I won’t tell the hamsters what you say, their little heads will swell like pumpkins xxx
What we really need is a picture of mistletoe… on your toe.
Hmm.. You would not want to see my toes. x
Oh.
Yeah…Oh NOOOOO x
very beautiful decorations and thanks for sharing
Thank you so very much for your kind comment. Have a lovely day xxx

Paul, you are an angel. An absolute angel. Will get right over . Thank you xxxxx
You’re welcome my friend
Oh many seasonal hamster to you dear friend
Have a very nice day
kisses
Many to you too my darling Anita. Have a great day yourself xxxxxxxxxx
Thank you so much dear
Have a very nice week waiting for new post 🙂
kisses
Thank YOU. I promise the dudes will be getting their little paw in gear soon xxx to you.
Those poor slaves, I wonder how many of them did actually get burned with all the master’s old possessions. I did get the sense from the Viking and the Courtesan that things could have gone much worse for Malice if she’d been captured by a raider who wasn’t quite so nice.
Thanks for the shout-out! xxxxxxxx
I read some ancient reports where slaves were burnt and it was like how happy and honoured they should be to be with their master in Valhalla. The thinking is ..slaying. Anyway, yes I was trying to show that things could have been far worse for Malice. She was luckyish in that Sin had to be appealing for readers, that an absolute caveman would not work here. I am delighted to give you the shout out. I love that review and it was so kind of you. I will also get links to it on my review page tomorrow. Chasing my tail today. I’ve put a bit on the Lazuli page and also on my latest news bit on my main page xxxxxxxx
Your home looks absolutely gorgeous. Must have taken many hours but worth it. Happy Christmas to you, the family and the hammies. Hope Bobby Bub doesn;t pig out on too much festive fare! xxxx
I just do a wee bit every day Cat. The real pest was the big tree cos we have changed that room since last year. Mr said stand it in the window..it’s bloody 7 feet or something. Anyway then when I did he goes, ‘I don’t like it there. Where else can it go?’ I am to polite to repeat my response. Anyway I had to lift the bloody thing and move it with all the decs and lights on!. The res it actually quite simple to do. (Mind you we still have to get the antique 10 seater tfable out the utility room down the stairs and bring it up the stairs, then put the other table down the stairs in the utility room,…….. Have a great day yourself. Are you having your mum over?
Lovely.Nice Written Ma’am.
Thank you my friend. Very kind of you xxx
Always U’re Welcome Ma’am.
Hugs x
It’s tough to hear about the relations between men and women back in the days of the Vikings.. but I appreciate your explaining more about it.. Congratulations on the new reviews!! Enjoy every moment of it ❤ Also I'm loving the holiday decorations!
Aw Christy, thank you. These were just a few things the dudes slung between everything else I make them do–lol– and they do without complaining. And thank you my darling re the reviews. It is indeed tough to explain about these times and of course writing them, you have to take that step back when it comes to how we look at things, which is not always easy but I guess not everyone did these things. I must say I am glad not to have lived in then xxxxxx
Reblogged this on Kate McClelland.
YOU ANGEL!!!!!! .. I am gonna send you a brand new box of matches indeed and love you 50 thou times xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Shehanne – wow, the decorations (like yourself) are fabulous! Santa will feel well at home when he ‘pops by’ on Christmas Eve! Sometimes we forget how far we’ve come over the last two hundred years – it’s only just over a hundred years since the Wright Brothers took the first plane into the air.
Kate McC and you are way way way too kind. I just like to make Santa welcome is all. You are right re how far we’ve come I guess that is why the past interests me so much. xxxxxxxxxxxx
Such fun, love the way your beautiful mind works. Wishing you all the very best now and always dear Shehanne. ❤️❤️❤️
Wishing you the very best too Janni, in your lovely house, in where you are right now in life. Hope your advent is fabulous. Lovely to see you here thrilled you had fun! ure the dudes ain’t done yet xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
❤️❤️❤️
And so when did the dudes become polite? LOL. Lovely post Shey. Your decorations are beautiful. It must take you months to setup and tear down with all your ornaments and Santas. And congrats on the beautiful reviews. I’m looking forward to reading your books soon. PS. I’ll email you early next week. 🙂 Merry Christmas my friend. ❤ xo
Oh I reckon them dudes are hatching some plan. They are NEVER polite and business like. Sure they are up to something. Thank you my darling fo5r all your kindness and support. It actually does not take that long to decorate. I just do a small bit every day. My main hold up is that this is just our 3rd Christmas here in this house, so I am still getting the feel for how to do it. Mr…for example..was nearly topping that main tree after he suggested putting it in the window. (We have just changed all this room so…) then he didn’t like it in the window cos it was blocking the window which meant it had to be lifted exactly as you see it and moved, exactly as you see it. These kinds of things now? These are a trial. However, Mr is still exactly as you see him and so am I. It was nice to see these reviews after all the carry on rebooks being delayed. You are a darling as aye and I wish you and yours the very best for Christmas, you gorgeous lady x
Thank you so much my lovely! You guys sound like a blast of fun. Wish I didn’t live so far. ❤ I'm working on your interview questions now, quite possibly you may have them tomorrow, gives you plentyyyyyy of time as you're scheduled for Jan 27th, the grand finale of my author interview series til the spring. <3xo
YAYAYYAY. If you lived closer you could come by on Christmas and join the parTAY!!! Always a great day. We would get on the vino and get along like a house on fire!!
Lovely deco, Shey. I think the dudes like them really, but shh. They’ve got a rep to keep… especially now they’re working on a secret book. 😉
I know and I am sure they are just kidding on re being nice xxxxxxxxx (PROBABLY COS OF THAT BOOK )
😀
Your Christmas decorations are fabulous, and your Christmas tree is a pure perfection. I know The Dudes are boasting that… but I think they slightly overestimate their abilities. Eating unwritten book and a fully decorated Christmas tree doesn’t seem like the same thing… I wouldn’t put those ‘bows of hamsters’ on the tree though… Just in case. xxxxxxxxxxxx
I hope they are heading for a fall but they are so busy with the hamster bows, they might not see how bowed they might get. I also reckon they are up to something I know nothing of. My decs are mainly old. You are so kind. I felt I was needing your photographic talent to capture things xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
They are lovely. Hope your December is happy, and the New year is better for all of us. xxxxxxxxxxxx
I love how there is a lot of glitzy decorations mixed with homey ones! ❤ This is a deluxe post and your humor lights it up, too. 😀
I guess I am a bit contradictory re decorations, as in life . I just mix them all up and hope for the best. So you’re very, very kind, especially as we ain’t lived here long and I am still getting the feel of the house that way. Christmas hugs to you and yours. I do love Christmas. I hope you have a great time xxxx
Love these little hampsters! 😘
AW Pilazos, I won’t tell them. They are big whiskered enough !!! xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Haha! You know, as a rule I don’t like rodents except for your little guys!😘
Lol Pilazos… I am in the same way there! My nearest brush was when I needed my younger daughter back out of what was then a total mess of a relationship and she was crying down the phone what would she do with this hamster that she and her partner had cos she knew well we would not take it in with her. Of course I had to say it was kindly welcome. I never said to Mr cos I knew he’d go titz and he did when he got back in the house. This triggered another weeping session. ‘Dad did not want little Sly.’ ‘Of course he does, of course,’ I said, ‘But if I see it or smell it, it’s out.’ You know what wee Sly quite changed my thoughts on furry dudes. I wouldn’t have them about but they can be quite characters. .
It is all about the macho man attitude when it comes to Vikings, uh!??? 😀 loved the funny twists here … and as always the hamstahs seem to speak out loud with their sharp tongues (even maybe without even knowing it, they stood up for women, I believe) 😉
Sending best wishes and love, dear She. Happy Holidays! ⭐
Big hugs to you my angel! Yes the dudes just say their little piece, sometimes relating the most awful things with their sharp little tongues. I’m actually not sure what the ave Viking thought. It’s really difficult looking at history not to judge it with our eyes but set it against the times. The Celtic , Scots and Viking women had enormous power. The Romans were quite shocked that the Celts had female rulers. Slavery was rife amongst all these peoples and that is where the Vikings were appalling from what you read of them. As for the origins of their raiding, well, you read that started because the land–that was all spoken for in Scandinavia always went to the oldest son and the other sons were left with nothing at all. Most of them on these raids were actually farmers. Then there was the biz of how some of the Saxon women did like them. Quite a mess really.
Hey! Hope you are doing well. I just wanted to tell you I am starting guest interview at my site. But I want to start with you, Will you be my first guest? Pls. I will be more than happy 😃💓💋💓💋💞
OMG, that is so kind. I would LOVE to. Thank you so much. ery nice of you to think of me. I am doing fine. it has just been crazy here with one thing and another for Christmas coming. I get to this stage in the day…mid afternoon and this is just me sat down to do all this. But the dudes will defo post tomorrow. I have it all in hand now and time set aside. All the best to you and thank you again. .

Thralls, slaves, time mutants, burnings…sounds like a humdinger of a book. March, huh? I guess I’ll have to wait, darn it.
Well it is …er…different…. But March? Yeah. I say nothing. I say nothing. Just send you much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
PS: It was my pleasure to write and post the LLL review. Thoroughly enjoyed the book. And my favorite Christmas tree…the silver one. No, maybe the wood one. No, okay, the wire one…well, okay all of them.
Ann, I am thrilled liked the book. I wanted to go a bit darker with that story. I thought why shouldn’t folks like that be written about. Lol, I do have a lot of trees. OF course I added to them with the wood ones…. Really that wood was for burning. xxxxxxxxxx
Mery Cristamas and I hope you are having a safe and fun holiday.
Aw, you too John. Having spent the morning cooking for the party tomorrow on Christmas Day, I am now on the sherry. OH yes. I hope you have a great time tomorrow, however you spend it. xxxx
I liked the mercury silver decorations, snowflakes and your Santa collection, Shehanne!
